Guide part 2: Items, magic, secrets, etc.
CONTROLS
START
When you stand still the game will be paused, other wise the equipment window will appear.
Button A
Press A+right to use item-1 or A+left to use item-2.
Button B
Strike with your weapon. Hold down up and keep pressing B to use your spear or trident as a shield.
Button C
Jump
UP
Enter a house or shop, talk to people, read signs and buy items.
DOWN
Leave a house or shop.
NOTES
When you stay a night at an inn your magic points will be refilled.
The blue stones, sometimes dropped by enemies, are magic points.
Purapril is the capital of Monster World. You'll get here often. Every time you've completed an area, a new door will appear somewhere in the village which leads to the village in that area.
HEART CONTAINERS
Here are the locations of the hearts. You can also get hearts by trading charmstones in the secret shop in Purapril. It's beyond the climbing plants right from the door to Lilypad. The maximum number of hearts is 14, when you've got them all the charmstone trader will give you extra magic.
Inside the monster's cave near Alsedo.
Inside the ruins near Lilypad. Go right, near the gab after the big boulder. Make your way to the button, activated it and go back. You'll see that some blocks have changed color. Shatter the grey blocks with your sword, walk to the middle and wait until Hotta makes the entrance appear to a room with a heart.
A secret door in the underground passage to Purapril castle leads to a heart. You can find it in a small gab with water.
Open the chest at the right side of the Monster World Sea near Alsedo.

Inside Poseidon's shrine near the red switches.
Inside the Ice Palace. In the left tower.
Return to the pyramid when you're a pygmy (take the path from Begonia) and enter the place where you can only come as a pygmy. In the room with the 4 doors walk through the left wall to reach to heart.
Return to the ruins near Lilypad when you're a pygmy. Go left at the part with the big boulder.
Inside the volcano, jump in the lava at the 2nd left end near a button and a flame snake. You'll now fall in a room with a heart.
On a cloud near Nightmare castle.
Inside Nightmare castle. Go to the left under corner in the room with the skateboard thing. Press up to enter a door, you'll be tuned into a pygmy. Then make your way to the room where the Legend armor is located, there go left and get the heart.
HEAL POTIONS
Medicine
Alsedo - 10 gold. Restores 1 heart.
Potion
Purapril - 50 gold. Restores 3 hearts
Holywater
Childam - 200 gold. Restores 5 hearts.
Hi-Potion
Begonia - 5000 gold. Restores 14 hearts.
Elixer
Begonia - 3000 gold. Restores automatically
about 50% of your vitality.

Small Spear
Shop in Alsedo named Kishera, 80 gold.
Knight Sword
Shop in Purapril named Bacchus, 250 gold.
Trident
Defeat Gragg and Glagg in the ruins.
Pygmy Sword
At the left side of the Monster World Sea near Poseidon's shrine. Jump on the platforms to get on the cliff.
Excalibur
Shop in Purapril named Wanderer, 2500 gold.
Battle Spear
Shop in Childam named Labyrinth, 10000 gold.
Legend Sword
The Blacksmith in Begonia will turn the old-axe into this sword after you gave him the fire-urn.
SHIELDS
Wood Shield
Shop in Alsedo named Kishera, 50 gold.
Shell Shield
Shop in Lilypad named Gooningle's, 200 gold.
Hard Shield
In the ruins near Lilypad. Go to the left in the room with the spears. Jump on the blocks at the dead-end and they will collapse. Take Hotta to the middle of the room and he will make an entrance appear.
Steel Shield
Shop in Purapril named Wanderer, 2000 gold.
Pygmy Shield
Enter the right door of the pyramid. You'll find the key inside the pyramid.
Knight Shield
Shop in Childam named Labyrinth, 3500 gold.
Fire Shield
Shop in Begonia, 8000 gold.
Legend Shield
Nightmare Castle. In the room with the 2 robe-lifts. grab the first one it will lead you to a chest.

Oasis Boots
In Poseidon's shrine. First talk to Poseidon, then get back to the room where you had to swim a while downwards. It's in that area.

In the ice palace, the right tower.

Nightmare Castle. In the area with the skateboard kinda thing.

Under the rocks in the sea near Alsedo. You've probably seen the chest before. Find your way through the underground maze to get there.

Knight Armor
Shop in Childam named Labyrinth, 5000 gold.
Flame Armor
Shop in Begonia, 10000 gold.
Legend Armor
Nightmare Castle. Fall into the gab in the room with the robe-lifts.
SECRETS
SECRET CAVES
There are 2 secret caves inside the high cliff at the end of the Maugham Desert. Use the teleporter in the pyramid to get to the mountain area. From here walk to the left until you've reached the end. Fall from the cliff and keep the D-button pressed to the right.Now you'll automatically enter the first secret cave with 2 shield elements, below this cave there's another secret area.
You can enter this one the same way as you did before.PYGMY
There a 2 secret places which you can enter after you're turned into a pygmy. The first one is in the pyramid. You can reach the pyramid by using the teleporter near Begonia. Once inside go to the room with the treasure chest and the secret door. Now you're able to walk to the left where you'll find a charmstone and lots of gold. There's also a heart here, just walk through the left wall in the room with the 4 doors. The other secret area you can enter as a pygmy is in the ruins near Lilypad. From the start, walk to left, decent the ladder and go left. Here you'll find another heart container.
SECRET DOOR IN THE PYRAMID
There's a room with a treasure chest surrounded by stones. You can reach it by going through a secret door. It's located next from the wall.SECRET DOORS IN THE SEA
There are 3 secret doors in the Monster World sea near Alsedo. They will all lead you to treasure chests with money.MINOR SECRETS
There are lots of spots where you can find gold. For example on the tree trunk in the begin of the game and left from the ladder near the tree at queen Eleanora's hideout. You can also try to jump near the arrows which point up.
MAGIC
FIRE STORM
The fortune teller in the begin, 3 pieces.
After defeating the Myconid, 3 pieces.
Enter the secret door inside the pyramid near the chest, 3 pieces.
SHIELD

Enter the secret door inside the pyramid near the chest, 2 pieces.
Inside the volcano, 2 pieces.

ITEMS
OCARINA
This instrument has the power to unlock doors. It's located in the cave right from Alsedo. You can use it after you've selected this item. Talk to Sonia to learn the melodies which will open the doors. You can trade this item later in game for a clue (some deal ;) ) in a cabin near the Monster World Sea.CHARMSTONE
You can buy charmstones at Sundry, a shop in Purapril. But make sure to take loads of gold with you, because they cost 500.000 gold. The best place to get this amount of gold is in Nightmare castle. You can also find a charmstone in the pyramid as a pygmy. You can trade charmstones in a secret shop in Purapril. This shop is located beyond the climbing plants near the door to Lilypad. Here you can trade your charstone for a heart or if you have all your heart containers he will give you extra magic when you give him 2 charmstones.LAMP
The lamp will light the ruins near Lilypad. You'll get it after defeating the big bat in the ruins.AMULET
The amulet is located at the right side of the Monster World Sea near Poseidon. Stand between the four palm trees in the room with the chest then press up and you'll be transported to the chest. After you got this item an entrance to Poseidon's shrine will appear under water (in the right under corner).SUN-KEY
The sun key will open the door in the middle of the Pyramid. It's located in the well in Maugham Desert.MOON-KEY
The moon key will open the left door of the Pyramid. It's located in the Pyramid.STAR-KEY
The moon key will open right door of the Pyramid. It's also located in the Pyramid.BLUE GEM & GOLD GEM
You can find them in chests near the king-size monsters in the Ice Palace. Install them both in the statues on the wall of the towers to make a door appear.BRACELET
You get this item from the Elder Dragon in Begonia. It can be used to break the seal to the ice world.OLD AXE
You'll get the old axe after defeating the Ice Bomber in the Ice Palace. Hand it over to the blacksmith in Begonia and he'll try to make a weapon of it.FIRE URN
It appears that this urn is stolen from the blacksmith by the Tyrant Dragon who lives in the volcano. After you've gave it back to the smith he can continue to work on the Sword of Legend.
