METAL GEAR

CONTROLS

F1- Pauses the game.
F2 - Shows weapon select window.
F3 - Shows the equipment window.
F4 - Shows the transceiver.
M - Punch.
SPACE - Weapon.

CLASS STARS

You start with 1 class star. You can recieve extra stars by rescuing prisoners. Each extra star allows you to carry more rations and bullets. You'll get an extra star after rescuing 5 prisoners, but you can also lose a star by killing a prisoner.

BASEMENTS

This section is guarded by dogs and are full with gas rooms or pitfalls. Some of the walls in the basements are weak. When you slap against them you'll hear a strange sound. Attach a plastic bomb to shatter the wall. The basement of building 1 and 2 are connected to each other. Keep that in mind when you want to rescue Ellen.

NOTES & TIPS

When you punch an enemy they will sometimes drop a ration or amo.

Before you're going to fight Metal Gear, first take enough plastic bombs (17 at least) and rations with you. Plastic bombs are on floor 1 of building 2, right from the bulldozer. Rations can be found in the lorry in the desert between building 1 and 2.

After you've defeated Metal Gear, take the left ladder.

GRAY FOX

 You have to let Solid Snake being captured by the enemy to meet Gray Fox. Enter the southern room on the first floor. 2 soldiers will appear and bring you to your cell in the basement. Hit the left wall until it breaks, do the same with the southern wall in the next room. Now you have to face Shotgunner. One of the doors can be opened be pressing M, there you will find your equipment and weapons.

ENTER BUILDING #2

You need the uniform to open the entrance to building 2. The uniform is located in the basement of building #1. Enter the room right from Shotgunner, then go one room to the north. Break the left wall with a plastic bomb. Wear it near the entrance
of building 2.

JENNIFER

To get the compass and the rocket launcher you have to contact Jennifer, a member of the resistance. Call her in 2 rooms of building #2 on the 2nd floor, you can reach her at frequency 120.48.

ELLEN

Ellen is captured in the basement. You can reach her cell from building 1 or 2. To reach her from building 2 you have to break a wall. Once you're in the cell break the right wall with a plastic bomb.

BUILDING #3

As soon as you reached building #3, Big Boss will give you false instructions, in time you'll learn why he's doing that. Go inside the building and leave the lorries alone, some of them will take you back to the begin. Break the wall at the north-east corner of the first room of building #3.

Shotgunner

Shoot grenades on him or use missiles.

Machine Gun Kid

The same as Shotgunner.

Helicopter

Stand near the barrier left from the helicopter then shoot grenades.

Tank

Put mines in front of the tank, then hide beyond the wall.

Bulldozer

Throw grenades on the bulldozer.

Fire Trooper

Go to the wall right from the trooper and shoot grenades in front of his feet.

Mr Arnold

Fire Rockets with the Rocket Launcher on them.

Coward Duke

Run to him (mind the pitfall), then shoot rockets on his right shoulder.

Metal Gear

Attach 16 plastic bombs to the feet of Metal Gear in this order: R, R, L, R, L, L, R, L, L, R, R, L, R, L, R, R.

Big Boss

Let him stay in a corner then fire several rockets on him. Use the cigarettes to extend the timer.
